Gold bracelot

I was checking reading on some of my gold and silver jewelry today and one of my wifes tennis bracelot (14 KT) gold will not register on the quattro, however my bounty hunter will pick it up in the iron/foil area...Why doesnt it register on the quattro ??(no disc in all metal) I mean its not that big but it is something I would think would be lost at the beach...Bud

Bud try coiling up the bracelet as compact as you can , you know like a snake coiled and then see if it reads anything . Most tennis bracelets are very thin and if stretched out would be very hard to get any reading on . I read on another forum some time back where a guy with an Explorer had the same thing happen . Also run sensitivity on Manual to max 20 . Let me know .....:minelab:

Problem is what are the chances of finding one coiled up in a ball. Its tough finding any chains with a Quattro, Try all metal and adjusting the sensitivity.

To date, I've found copper, steel, junk, gold-plated chains, but they do tend to give off a broken or intermitten signal, which could be taken as rubbish, like nails, except the signals are different to nails. I haven't detected a gold chain as yet, but I imagine it would signal along those lines. I guess sometimes that's where digging a signal if you're unsure what's underneith is a good thing. Can only learn from it.
