After 3 hrs of heavy snow I went for a :detecting: hunt
Snow melted as it hit salt gravel and ground.
3,5 hrs hunt today

Best gold results yet.... mix of 14 and 18k gold

Why are we so fascinated by gold ?
Two rings were found in first 30 min.

and some silver scraps and 3 silver chains

two silver rings are both broken and one of gold is also snapped in gravel
must learn to solder (gold and) silver

How much do you get for scrap 14k gold ?

I am not going to scrap it but I am calculating return investion on G2 :)
I have been using G2 for month now... it arrived on 31.12.2014.
Hunting was on weekends only ...

Super nice finds! What type area were you detecting and what were some of your ID readings?

tabman

A quick estimate would be to remember 12k is 50% pure gold so look at the daily gold rate and divide by 2. Multiply that by the fraction of an ounce you have. That will put you in the ball park with the least work. Of course you will be a tad low, but its better to be pleasantly surprised than disappointed.

Tabman,

I am detecting drained (man made) salt lake - swimming place.
About 100 m x 50 m

As for IDs ... 48 - 70s this time ...
52 for the ring, 48 is I think for small chain... chain 18k is above 70 ...
As I am digging all targets I don't remember ID numbers.

Very small number of junk targets ... few coins (copper over iron), nails and hair pins
Disc 40, sens is 100 (had problem with GND on connector and connected again)

Pastor Tom

Thank you, fast way to calculate. I have seen price of 15 Euro for 1g of 14k gold

wish I had one of those lakes :poke:

mine is about 10000 miles x something similar :sadwalk:

good luck in a great spot got to love great spots :clapping:

AJ

Lake is not a problem I have two more  but there is less things in them
