Gold Between Stuart Town and Wellington

moa

New member
Hi there as an experienced gold fossicker (without a metal detector)
I am wondering if anyone knows any areas within or near these towns that are close to the settlement as I am off to Lightning Ridge in Mid October. I would love to find a small piece of gold with my xterra but I will be travelling By rail. So I would like to find a piece of land which is close within a couple of Kms from the edge of town and or railway station that i can legally take my detector to play With. Mick has Been a Help, But it just may be a wee bit Far. Any suggestions? thanks I love doing the research But I thought someone may guide me in the right direction. this is only a preliminary holiday to see if gold detecting interests me. the holiday is mainly about gem fossiking. What about the town common at stuart town, is that close to the station? thanks so much people. doesnt worry me if I dont find any but I would like to give it ago seeing im over there and have a detector!!!!! anyone live around there and want to take me out digging Ill pay fuel car and food costs!!!! lol :detecting:

Plenty of gold still to be found on the common at Stuart Town which is probably only a km or two from the station. The common itself stretches for miles though, both sides of the road to the water park.

Not heard of any areas at Wellington, Burrendong still gives up plenty, though it's 20/25 minutes away
