Gold and Where can I find a list of the dealer's selling new Tesoro Vaqueros?

Yesterday I found my first gold using a Vaquero detector (actually it was my 87 year old dad who borrowed the detector from me for less than a minute). Out of curiosity, who gets to keep the find? He walked over the gold with my detector and I dug it for him? I already gave it to him, but in general what is the detector code here?

As the title says, I want to buy a new Vaquero- the one I have I bought used and now I want a new one to support Tesoro. If anyone can point me to a list of sellers or recommend me one, I would be grateful (and even more grateful if I can find one that includes a free lesche digger and free shipping:)).

We have several dealers on the forum that will do you right on a new Tesoro. You can go to the banners at the top of the page and contact them or my guess is they will see your post and make their presence known.

Thanks for the advice Ron in WV. I may be thick, but there is only one banner flashing today?

Click on the Find's Treasure Forums logo at the very top of the screen which will take you to the main home page and you'll see at least 7 banners for the dealers.

Go to the Feedback Forum. At the top of that forum is a sticky post listing the sponsors. There are more listed there than there are banner sponsors.

Hope that helps.

PS My vote is that your dad actually found it; it's his to do with as he pleases. He looks happy to be there holding it and being with family. Hope you have many more days to share with him.

yes or go to Tesoro.com and see a list of dealers in your state.. I bought one from the sponsers and one from the classifieds.. both good and the sponser shipped fast with tracking.

as for your Dad,, I'm not sure of the Code but if he was holding the machine and he got the signal and then told you to "Dig Here" then its his find.. you know why I know this? because my wife always gets signals and then tells me "HONEY DIG HERE" then when I find something she says let me see that and when I give it to her to check out she puts in in her pocket and starts walking and swinging the machine again while I fill back in the hole...

Thanks for all the help! I plan to buy a Vaquero detector from Richard@Backwoods.

Regarding the detector code for finding gold. It happened just as Tajue17 described. I did give the cross to my dad on the spot- but that was easy since it was my dad. What happens though when you let a friend or complete stranger try out your detector for a few seconds and bam, nice big fat piece of gold staring at you?

Call me selfish, but I would not hand my detector over to a complete stranger....I'll talk to them, but hand them my detector? No way. A friend would be a different situation, and if you are letting a friend use your detector, then it's best to sort out who is going to own what before you or your friend start the excursion. Just my thoughts.

Nah, you are not selfish- just prudent. It is tough though when you are out and a friend says, hey can I try your detector for a sec. Then bam!!!

Can anyone recommend a reliable Canadian dealer or an American dealer that doesn't mind working north of the border?
Birthday coming up and I would really like to treat myself to an Outlaw or Tejon and start clawing through the great white north.
(Thanks in advance)

U.S. dealers can sell with in the NAFTA countries. So any dealer in the U.S. can sell there. If they question you, have them call me and I will explain our policy. Also, here is a link to our Canadian dealers.
