Gold and silver.............:)

Our club headed up to Stevens Pass and gave the ski slopes a try. According to the security guy, there has been a lot of people up there with detectors. Lots of clad was found and we all hoped to find some silver and maybe some nice jewelery. I hiked up this one slope and thought I was going to die before I got to the top. I headed back down working my way back and forth and popped out a nice 10kt gold ring with a red stone. It might be a ruby, but only being 10kt I have my doubts. I continued down and worked around one of those yurt camp huts and got a 1943 silver quarter. I was very surprised to say the least. I think I will stick to schools, parks and old houses. The ground up on the slope was very rocky and the low shrub roots were hard to dig in. All in all we had a good time and I didn't get skunked..........:) HH.

Hey Eddie....just think of all the good aerobic excercise you got!!! :jump: I think there is still a good chance that stone could be a ruby! Way to go my friend....ski slopes here in Colorado have been quite productive over the years for us. :clapping:

Thanks Chuck. I did get a workout climbing up the slopes, but the finds were worth the pain...........:) I spotted an old ski lift place a couple of years ago when the wife and I were driving around over in eastern Washington on an old back road and I want to go back there someday and see if I can get permission to detect there. Only thing I have to worry about is the cows bothering me......:) There were some people up at the slopes just walking slow under the ski lifts looking for coins on top of the ground. This is probably the only place you don't need a detector if you only want clad and maybe a ring or two. HH.

Thanks Rich. No pain no gain as they say............:) I won't rush into detecting any ski slopes in the near future. I'll leave them for the young bucks.........:) HH.

Congrat's on such a great looking ring and the silver Quarter. Sure is a great find that ring of yours. That stone just sticks out like a sore thumb making it to be a very attractive ring. Hope your finds keep coming. Good Luck and HH.
