Got out yesterday to my closest saltwater beach, about 25 minutes from home. My wife went along to sit on the beach and do some artwork, so a few hours would be the limit to hunt. Got to the beach and the signs were out that the beach was closed do to bacteria levels. I talked to the man that runs the food concession and he said it had been up sense 1-10-08, but people were still going in but not getting there heads under. So I put on my farmer john wet suit and hit the water.Started out slow a few clad coins and the regular trash, then a small .925 silver chain was out chest deep just waiting to be found. Got one of those huge glass earrings that cause your heart to skip a beat. On my last pass down the length of the beach I got that favorite sound we all love to hear, nice ring 10k with diamond chips. All in all a great day, my 9th hunt with no Gold was broken. HH

Beaches starting to pick up. They were still pretty quite during the college breaks but packed yesterday with the high schooler. Too bad the largest coin they carry is a penny. Between Patty and I, we dug 50 or them last night.
