Gold and Silver Chains

Have anyone ever found any gold or silver chains with the AT PRO? If so what type of tone do they give and what do they register?

Found silver chain in chest deep water
this summer with VDI of low 80's

Check out my post on 10/9/11. Gold ring which is cracked( look at the back edge) came in mid tone and so did the thin gold bracelet. Silver ring and tungsten came in high tone.

Found this last week in the dark while walking back to the truck........sooo... I never did get to see the VDI number.......just went out in the rain to check it and low and behold it VDI's in the Gold range :surprised::yikes::surprised:.....clasp is marked .925 made in Italy and FGS Voir......maybe they forgot to change the stamp and it's really WHITE GOLD...........

Anyways it VDI's in the higher 40's

Since you are probably only detecting the little clasp, the VDI is sure to drop. I'm sure it was probably a scratchy signal when you first dug it, something like a piece of foil would sound. The finer the chain, the more the VDI drops. I know you "dig with your ears" and probably only glance at the VDI just to see what it "might" be, but for the VDI lovers, that is what will happen with chains.

Got a thin silver rope chain I'd in the 40's. There is no magic I'd when you are hunting jewelry. Gold and silver can come in any where depending on the size thickness and what metal it is alloyed with. I do a lot of jewelry hunting in the summer. You find the most likely spot and dig every thing that is not iron if you want to have success.
