Gold and Opal Ring and a Merc

Treasure Mike

New member
Sunday afternoon hunting a sports field I got a beep on the MXT and a reading of 6 on the VDI meter. When I looked down I saw the 14K opal ring on top of the ground. It only weighs .6 grams and it is a size 2. The 1942 Mercury dime hit at 83 on the meter and was down about 2 inches. Yesterday I was hunting a park I have searched over a dozen times in the last year. Never found much of anything there other than clad. Well, I was about back to my truck and ready to leave at about 7 pm since it was getting dark, when I got a 26 hit on the MXT. I thought pull tab. But I dig those signals most of the time. And then out pops the heaviest men's wedding band I have ever found. It was so heavy and silver in color that I thought I had a platinum band. Turns out it is white gold and 14 K and weights in at a hefty 13.6 grams. Thanks for looking. Mike

Thanks for posting Mike. That Bigfoot is still producing for you. Those are truly very nice finds. The rings went from tiny and cute to heavy and bold. Looks like you are not missing much.:beers: And then you pick up a nice Merc too .... great hunting!!!!

Have fun, Bob
