Gold and Diamonds at last!

Hi guys, after 50 hours of detecting (all of them fun) I have finally hit some more Gold! I did take advice from you guys, hunting different areas, doing the drunken stagger and it has all come together so thank you! I hunted the beach from 3-7 this morning, and I found 2 rings, one 10.9g silver, and a stunning 18k white gold and diamonds. It was such a windy night, no rain luckily, and the beach is so big that you feel tiny, and sometimes you are swinging for 15-20 minutes between signals. After about an hour a strange man who was obviously under the influence of something came over and started talking about the surf, and then went right off on a mad one! I humoured him for a bit, then gave him the slip and hunted without my head tourch on! I started to find targets, so I flipped the light on, recovered it and then back in to darkness. My stealth detecting paid off, and I found the silver ring. Another hour and I found the gold and diamond ring, then a few more coins, and it was time to go home, before the kids and the missus woke up. I was so happy to have got back on the gold, but even though I wasn't finding gold I was still enjoying my detecting. It does feel good to be back on it though! I think I might go tomorrow morning from 3-6.30, it depends on the weather......thank you to all my friends who have given me advice and encouragement, this forum is awesome.

Nice finds there! I've got three rings in the last month but they were all plated junkers but they still get your heart pumping when you find them! Where did you find them wet or dry sand?

The silver heavy one was on the dry, the gold and diamond was in the wet. Must be gold in your scoop next I recon....

Both nice rings! The diamond is prob .5 carat? So there was another crazy man out on the beach at night besides you?

Very nice finds, congratulations!
I detect mostly at night too. There are many nights
that I have the beach all to myself. Strange things do happen though.
One night at about 330am a white male comes up to me. His head is shaved
and I could see patches of blood that came from 2 large open wounds on his head.
He said that he was caught by the father of a teenage girl he was making love to.
The dad (he said) cracked him twice with a baseball bat. I left him, explaining that the tide
was about to turn and I needed to continue taking advantage of it.
About 15 minutes later, I find him laying on the wet sand. Tried to wake him in order to
warn him about the now incoming tide. No luck. Fearing that he may have
become unconscious I hustled back to shore and went into the
lobby of a hotel (dripping water and sand) in order to call the police.

[attachment 284874 image.jpg]The diamond ring has a square made up of 9 small diamonds, and then 4 more diamonds on each shoulder. It is a beautiful ring, must have cost lots of money, it is a beauty, it's hard to get a decent picture it's so shiny!
