Going to the Beach

I am going to Tybee Island,Ga on vacation, and plan on doing lots of detecting with my GTI 2500. Any suggestions on a sand scoop that works best for you would greatly be appreciated. I am a Southeast Missourian so beaching is not my thing.

I use to live on Hilton Head which is the next island north and I think the water is still too cold for many people to venture in. So if you are vacationing in the near future you won't need a big long handled scoop. Most of the treasure will be in the sand. If you are vacationing there in the summer you might want a long handled scoop for going in the water, but that is risky. You don't want to get your detector wet. It is safer to stay in the sand with a short handled steel scoop. Cost about $40. Look for the crowds and MD there. After they leave or at day break.

I want to hit up the beaches here in Chicago in the summer, I think it will be fun. I was just looking around for a cheap scoop (incase I don't like beachin). Yea, your gonna spend $40 for a hand scoop.

I was considering a long handle scoop. I won't be getting into the water with my 2500. I am a Garrett dealer as a hobby and sell a few detectors a year. Thanks for your input. I am going to Tybee in July, so I hope to find some goodies.
