Going to take the Stingray for a walk in the water today..

Pete in MI

I finally found my chest waders (buried in the garage), built a water float/sieve yesterday, got the water scoop ready to go and re-read the instruction manual again. Will insert new batteries shortly.

I bought the Stingray back in January so have not had a chance to see if it is going to be leak-free or how well it works. I am looking forward to the pleasure of this light weight detector. I had a Fisher 1280x before and though it was great on nails and did find some rings and coins, it was heavy in the water - too much drag - even with the control box hip mounted. Before that had a Whites Beach Hunter ID, didn't like it because it wanted to float to the surface - taking my mind of detecting and on one side of me wanting to list to one side and keeping me off balance.

From what I have read this unit will be a dream come true. will let you all know how things turned out today. I do have a back up Stingray in case this one leaks and haven't had a chance to test it yet either. Maybe once I test them both and they are fine I might sell one of em. Don't really need 2 of them. Anyway, will let you know how things turn out...hope my float proves to be a great asset and time saver.
