Not me, swings great for me. No arm or wrist fatigue at all. I do use the arm strap though

Your problem can be the location your hand is at. The Impact if you don't have a strong grip will position your hand so the control box will slide down rest on top of your closed hand. It will throw your wrist into ache after about an hour or so. The Whites MXT did the same for me when I had one long ago. If you make sure the bottom of your hand is maintained at the bottom of the handle by the shaft, your forearm and wrist will be in proper alignment. You will then be happy to use the Impact and not sell it. Only problem, you have to mentally maintain that hand position until it becomes natural. Also, if you can ease up on the amount of pressure that you apply to the handle with the index and middle fingers, the Impact will balance better as well. It seems if those fingers have to tight of a grip, the coil will tilt upwards and you then need extra wrist pressure to bring it back horizontal.
What I did with my Impact to prove this point is temporarily cable tie a block of stiff foam onto the front of the handle. It will keep the hand wrist forearm in proper alignment. I have a bad wrist, this simple fix makes a big difference. I was going to make some custom adapters over the winter for a better fit. If your able to make your own, go for it, if your making and selling, I get a royalty for my idea. I even thought about making a custom handle.
Also makes a difference if you extend the lower rod a bit further out, so the entire Impact balances better, the coil should naturally just position itself level with the ground. I am used to having the rear of a coil a few inches in front of my toes. Due to the Impacts weight of the battery pod, as mentioned the lower rod had to be extended for proper balance.
The new Quest detectors have just about the perfect hand grip, it fits the hand in a natural position. The index finger locks into the indent, the rest of the hands fingers rest comfortably as well. The handles back is curved to fit inside your palm.
If a detectors handle/grip is not ideal depending upon your physical make-up, the detector will feel uncomfortable after awhile. My goal is to always make the handle/grip ergonomic as best as I can to suit myself. The simple foam fix right now works for me. It may work for you. The Impact to too good of a detector to part with so I looked for a simple solution.

About the arm cuff, its too wide and wise cause the wrist to compensate for the forearm sliding back and forth in the cup.
I don't wear a strap to hold it in place, I like putting the detector down so I can use the same hand that hold the detector to dig the target.

I use the armrest strap and lightly grip the handle and let the weight ride on my arm.. I also do this with v3i and ctx and i can hunt all day with any of them and never fatigue. I only use my hand and wrist to guide the machine back and forth , no weight supported there, and i do not extend the lower rod out more than about 1.5 to 2 foot from my feet.
I really hope the next Makro/Nokta detector has better thought out ergonomics. To be honest, I use my Racer2 whenever I can, as the Impact is uncomfortable to hold and makes my thumb go numb if I detect with it for long periods of time. I love the Impact, but getting a numb thumb can't be a good thing 
As with any detector part of the concern is the ergonomics of the design. Human factors enter in, also, such as how long or short the rods are extended, where they position the arm cup, and if they do anything different than the original design such as padding up the arm cup with something thick.
For me to racer two is comfortable as long as I have the Orca whale or the 5-inch coil mounting with 51/2X10 I can only last about an hour or so, and with the standard 7X11 I don't even use it as it's too fatiguing due to my crappy Mobility especially in rough and uneven country.
On the other hand, I can use my impact all day long with a 5-inch Double D, the 7 inch concentric, the 5X9.5 frame coil, and I can last much longer with the standard search coil than I can with the Racer 2 even with a small coil.
The positive thing however is that in the end both the Impact and the Racer 2 are really great performers for all types of detective, especially the iron littered sites we often work.

LOL, had the same thing happening. But, two fingers. Love the detector, not the handle much. Have been thinking about redesigning it with an add on overlay this winter.
Definitely not planning to sell my Impact any time soon, just need to think about how to fix the ergonomics so my thumb doesn't go numb....
I too like the 20khz mode, cuts through mineralization and yes it does love gold

My hope as well, but the Racer2 stays no matter what
