Going to pull the trigger

I have my Omega up for sale on Feebay after using it once. I am not impressed with the build quality or chattiness. I am going to pick up a ATP shortly after it sells. My question is this

Is the ATP built as well as Tesoros are or better?
Are the batteries a PITA to put in like my F5 was?
Is it best to start on pro zero 35 discrim? Iron audio on or off depending?

Just curious.

Thanks!

just my opinion but garretts are built better.
battery changes easy.
i prefer pro zero 35 iron audio off

I've found the batteries to be no issue, however I 100% HATE screwing on the coil and phones cables. For me, it is very hard to see in there to line them up, then there is VERY little room to turn them, huge oversight on Garrett's part! I do love the machine, that's for sure. :super:

[size=medium]if ya can get past the problem areas ALREADY STATED YOU DO END UP WITH A VERY GOOD MACHINE. sorry, cap was on.
take your time and be careful with the plug-ins and you'll have no problems. the battery container is cheap. be careful and you won't break it. hunting is very enjoyable with the atp and you can be a little ruff in the brush. the weak spots are the plug-ins and the battery holder.

I followed some suggestions on here to use a white marking pen to line up the plugs. Works great and no more major PITA getting them in. It could have been better but using the line up lines of a marker makes all the difference.

My ATP will be here within the next two days. I'll have to get a marking pen.
