GOING TO BEACH IN NORTH CAROLINA DO NOT HAVE WATER DETECTOR BUT I HAVE MXT HOW DOES IT PERFORM IN SALT WATER NEED SOME TIPS THANKS BARRY

If you only have the stock coil stick to the dry sand. Wet sand takes a lot of patience, dont run gain wide open, I did well running the stock in relic mode disc on 2 trigger forward and dig all high tones, DO NOT rely on the vdi, dig all high tones. When balancing turn the mxt on hold it waist high then slowly lower to the ground, try this in the wet sand also, may take a few tries but it will balance and does pretty good, very a little slower in the wet sand. Good luck. The 14 inch excellerator is a super beach coil, you would not believe the depth.
