Going to Arkansas....

Hi everyone been a while since I posted. I'm heading down to Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas to visit my father and was wondering if there's any good spots to do some metal detecting. I'm hoping to get him excited about the hobby so he can go out and buy a detector. I love the hobby and found it rewarding just the same. So if anyone could give me some good places to go I would appreciate it.

Used to own a lake lot up a couple of miles from horseshoe bend on bulshoals lake, just inside the missouri line. It was on Moore's bend close to the township of cedar creek. There was a state maintained launch and park area there. It has been abandoned by the state of Missouri. Might look for on the map. That launch is directly across the lake from "K" dock which is one of the largest docks on bull shoals. Hope this helps you out a little.

Just treat the area like you would back home; any place you would think was a good spot to try at home
would still be a good spot where ever you are. People are the same every where you go, they'll loose the
same stuff in the same places, the same way. Yea there may be some spots in the new area that you didn't
have back home but go hunt like you always do and ENJOY it for what it's worth not what you might have found
some place else if you had known about it.

Thanks for the posts. Apache1medus, Horseshoe Bend is a city in Fulton, Izard, and Sharp counties. The city itself is in Izard county in Arkansas. Just been trying to do some research and found some interesting stuff on civil war battles and such in the area along with some golden circle and Jesse James stuff. So we will see what I find on this trip but just expecting clad clad and bottle tops lol which is fun just the same lol. But if anyone has some areas or towns to check out there in north central Arkansas let me know. It will be fun just the same. And thanks again for the post.

sorry it took so long i have 21 pages to go through and a few books. i found stuff on frank and jessie . they talk about the old spanish trail and the james river in north central ark, every thing else was to far. but any way sorry i could not help.
