this pile of coins I scrounged up one summer. This pile is about two feet long, a foot or so wide, and about 8-9 inches high. Can't remember the count but it was several thousand.

Now that is one huge pile for a summer. You must have been hitting some great spots. Where and when did you find all those. What was the total $$$ amount. I don`t think i could ever come close to that in one year unless i was out everyday for several hours. Since i picked up a detector a couple years ago i`ve noticed i have my share of competition around here for finding the goodies. I know John E. has found a lot but i bet you have found a small fortune since you started. Thanks for the picture Bill.

Bill,
that's a lot of heavy metal alright,
I am looking at that pile, and it tells me
that you either get a lot of loot a day, or
a lot of days a looting !!!
Either way,
top scoring buddy...
Hmmm, I gotta get out more.

Bill--- ol' Bud, them were the days. The BFO and TR's
and being first. Barbers, Buffalos, and Mercury and Wheaties just under the turf. A few "Indians," and
other neat stuff.

So that's what happened to all of them!! <img src="/metal/html/angry.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":mad"> All i've managed in 5 yrs. is one Barber, one Buffalo, zero mercs, a couple of IH's and a couple dozen wheaties. <img src="/metal/html/cry.gif" border=0 width=40 height=15 alt=":cry"> Hope you old-timer 'tectorists hung onto those oldies!! <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
