Going Curbside with the 5" Coil

Hey Guys,
I am thinking about going curbside using a 5" coil. I am now using the 7.5" minelab coil. My question is how deep are you guys finding coins in super trashy areas while using a 5" coil? Also, which 5" coil do you guys recommend that I get?
With my 7.5" coil, I have been finding almost no coins while hunting curbside at old parks. But I don't believe there are no coins. I feel that there should be coins all over that 90-year-old curb! I have been running sensitivity 17, Iron Mask -10, and Mike Moutray Settings. I am getting good threshold return most of the time. But there are many shallow pulltab sounds coming from the ground. I am hoping to get closer to those pulltabs but still not be affected by them so I can hear what is going on around them by switching to the 5" coil.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,
I been using the X5 of Sunrays, had a 5 inch Excelerator and sold it as I like the X5 better. Where I use the X5 is where the X8 is too big as there is trash everywhere and with a dime on top of the gound the X8 or the stock coil will not get it being there is so much trash. Depth wise I have dug silver dimes at 7-8 inches, but most have been at 4-5 as the using the 5 inch is not for depth, but for seperation of targets you normaly wouldnt get with the bigger coils.
If you feel your 8 inch coil is nulling too much or too many signals at curbside than the X5 is the way to go.

I have both the Sunray X5 and Excelerator 5" coil. I haven't used either one enough to form a firm opinion, but note that the X5 is really 5.5 inches while the Excelerator is just under 5 inches in diameter. Side by side the difference in size is considerable.
