Hi all,
In my previous post (Oct 25) I mentioned that I was planning to detect at my old high school. Well, here are the results. It was definitely time well spent as I found a mens ring and my first buffalo nickel. I'm not sure what type of metal the ring is made of, its dark grayish black in color, smooth and lightweight (if anyone recognizes this type of ring please let me know). It registered an 82 VDI on my MXT (maybe because similar shape and size as a quarter?). Other finds at this location include a pile of clad, Old timer pocket knife, track shoe spikes, a junky bracelet, and a glass stud earring. I got most of these on the football field, but the buffalo nickel came from the front lawn of the school about 4" down. I only covered about 20% of the field - so plenty of area left for next time.
