This morning I had to go into town, so thought I'd take the X Terra 70 with me for the ride (and an hour's detecting) I went to a spot where I'd found and 1910 3d about a month ago. 1910 was the first year that Australia had its own coinage, so the 3d was a special one for me. Found a number of coins near the surface, but one of them (gave a reading of 30) was a couple of inches down. Turned out to be a 1908 halfpenny! English, in the reign of Edward VII. It's great to find something more than 100 years old. HH Sapper:bouncy:

You just cant beat finding pre-decimal's! A threepence or sixpence beats $1 and $2 coins everyday of the week. Well done.

Nice finds! I was down under back in Feb. went to Ballarat and spent a few hours looking for gold only found lead shot and 22 slugs etc. but did convince me the 6" DD will find tiny things. I wasn't proficient with the X-70 yet, am just now getting used to the tones on trash and coins. Hope to get back sometime to look for gold and drink some more James Squire Amber and Porter.
