I took these pics this morning. There are more at: www.pbase.com/photodug. Click on the "in box" for more hummingbird pics.

God bless, and have a great day.

...I have a Canon Pro-1 point and shoot. Hopefully I'll be able to get a digital SLR soon, but not until I'm gainfully employed again.

Thanks,

Doug

Have you ever tried to sell your photos? Looking at your webpage, I think you're in the wrong business. You are one professional photographer with a great eye!

I am still learning how to take pictures with this camera and feel I have a long way to go yet.
I would love to make my living with photography but to do so I would need to upgrade to a digital SLR. It would be a considerable investment I can't justify right now. I am investigating a couple of web sites where I can attempt to sell photos. Who knows?

Thank you for your kind words! I appreciate the encouragement.

I've been thinking about a digital SLR too. Unfortunately, the cost is prohibitive right now. Maybe sometime next year when Vicky starts teaching. I saw many of them while on vacation and they really look great. I used an EOS to take some vacation shots, but I've never been impressed with the pictures. Some are OK but color-wise, I think they don't come close to my 6 year old 1 megapixel digital.

I use a little cheap Casio QV_R40 that was on close out ( less than 200.00 ) I have been very pleased with it. I only got an editing program day before yesterday, and have been playing with it.
Your pics were just beautiful.
Glad to hear that Brian and Sarah are doing well in school. Bet he really enjoys the hall monitoring thing. God bless you all.

I have a 35mm EOs Rebel too and felt the same way about the results I got from it. Canon has released a new DSLR, the 350d, to replace the original digital Rebel 300. You can use your 35mm Canon lens on the DSLR so all you need to buy initially is the body. And then a bunch more lens' in the future!:) I am looking at either the new 350d or the older 20d because the price is starting to come down. You can pick up a new Rebel 300 pretty cheap now.

I researched cameras at: www.dpreview.com, for several months before I bought the Canon Pro-1. It is old now too and the price has come down a lot on it. It's 8mp with a 28-200 optical lens.

When are you going to post some vacation pics?

Thanks, PJ!! I just got back from an oral surgeon with Brian. His two remaining front teeth are pressing into the roof of his mouth and we were afraid they were going to remove them. The dentist said he should be OK until his next tumor surgery and then we should probably have them removed at that time.

Lets see some more pictures!! I hope my next post has a picture of an old coin or CW relic!:D
