Goddess ring found today

Found this sterling silver goddess ring today at the waterline about 15 inches down with my DFX300 today using the bigfoot coil. :)

Neat old looking ring.......it looks like it's victorian era to me, nice patina also.

Definitely a cool find.

It's stamped STERLING - There's a spot here on the beach that was renurished that keeps giving up old weird items. When they dredged here for the nourishment they found a 1777 71st Scottish regiment sunken ship so there's no telling what's in the sand they threw up on the beach. I don't think this ring could really be from the 1700s though. Could it be?? I did find the same ring online for sale as a 'vintage goddess' ring but when I emailed the seller she said she didn't know the history behind the ring and thought it might be from the 70s. If anyone knows the history behind the ring I'd love to hear from them.

very nice ring..... i wonder at point in history that they started stamping the word -sterling- on jewelry...

Got a big thumbs up from my wife on this one !!
