Yesterday was the BEST Resurrection Sunday I have ever had. The church service was awesome. Afterwards we started wondering if we made the right decision to move up north - we would miss all these wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ and the minister is the best we have ever had anywhere. But God has a place for us. We thought the day couldn't get any better. God surprised me again.
I have mentioned that my Dad had lost his wife of 46 years and needed me to get up north to be of help to him. I was once again being narrow minded. My Dad had not been in a church since before he had married my Mom. Apparently she was pregnant at the time for my brother and they went to her church to get married and was told by the minister he would not marry them until after the child was born. Whether this was a right or wrong decision I cannot say but because of it my Dad never went back to church again.
I'm 55 and my brother is 56 almost 57. So it has been about 56 years since he set foot in a church. He is now 72 years old. I talked to him last night on the phone. Though he has periods of dementia he seemed in his full faculties last night. He is doing pretty well under the circumstances with the death of his wife and other things.
He told me he was with some friends yesterday and he said "I went to church with Bob and Kitty yesterday morning." I repeated what he said so Sherry could hear. We were so excited. He told me 'I have got to get back to going to church again." I encouraged him to do so that it would be good for him in many ways.

God is great all the time and he does great things! Praise God. Thank you Jesus. Once again God has filled my eyes with tears of love and joy.
Through the many trials and temptations life has thrown at me this past year, the blessings from God have been pouring in - my cup runneth over - with God's blessings.
Please pray my Dad will continue to get in rightstanding with God and attend church every Sunday.
