Gobble-Gobble passed this along to me -- -- Maximum Overdrive BHID(Supertune)

Beachhunter ID Tips for Significantly Increasing Depth.

1- turn on the BH & go through the normal set up (steps 2 through 4)
2-set sens to pre-set with mode switch in disc mode.
3-turn threshold control to faint threshold
4-set mode switch to all-metal mode& ground balance machine normally
5-after ground balancing & while still in the all-metalmode, turn the sen. to max. the threshold will change to a high shrill.
6-hit the reset to return to a normal threshold
7-return to the all metal mode & re-do the ground balance. there will be a narrower window within which to balance at this time.
8-leave the mode switch in all-metal mode & begin hunting. there will be a marked improvement in depth.
9-*** NOTE ***- there will no longer be tone identification between targets. However , the target identification lights will still be accurate

I had noticed this while playing with mine but did not know it could be useful. I'm going to try it this weekend and see how it does, figured yall might want to try it too!!!!

Prob. gained 4-5 inches in the air and the machine was wound out but fairly stable. (9.5 coil) Can't wait to get in the wetsand!!

People been swimming there since the 20's A buddy of mine pulled 5 gold rings in one night there once!

5-after ground balancing & while still in the all-metalmode, turn the sen. to max. the threshold will change to a high shrill.

Does hitting the reset make it go into the disc. mode?

Bottle..

6) will re-tune the threshold and put it in discrim...BUT

7) states put it BACK into all metal to GB again. The second GB procedure is more precise. Then begin hunting in all metal.

I know that my DFX works MUCH better when I GB twice...even if it is the automatic GB. Especially at the beach.

You have to be very very careful about revealing good hunting spots. You just gave Fairhope away and I,m going to have to check it out with MY BHID.
Just kidding. I've been over there a number of times without a detector. I always thought it was worth a try. By the way the procedure to boost sensitivity in A/M works. Depth is increased but sometimes you have to cut back some because it starts to false a lot. See you at Faiehope  Don

I do something similar with the MXT, to me GB in salt mode is not as deep as in ground mode. GB initally in the dry sand in Ground. When going from the dry sand to the wet, if it starts to get noisy and falsing, GB in salt mode then GB again in ground mode and away you go. Try it
