Goat's Best for 2010 (yep......with the V3i)

Looks like I am done for the year. I don't do cold weather hunting. There is snow on the ground and more coming. I got a late start this year for detecting as I had too much other stuff going on. I didn't get started until June, but found lots of old coins and silver for the collection. I picked out what I consider to be the 3 best finds for this year. One is an 1820 Large Cent which is my oldest coin to date. Another is my oldest silver coin to date; a 1835 Capped Bust Dime in EF40 condition which would push the value to around $300. This is my second Capped Bust Dime, the first was 1837. And last, but not least is my oldest half dollar to date; a 1893 Columbian Half Dollar. This is from the Chicago World's Fair and is the first commemorative coin series minted in the U.S.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all !

Nice going Steve! I wasnt with you when you found any of those....I wonder??????? :poke:

Those are all nice finds, especially when you consider your region. I have yet to dig a capped bust...any denomination.

I hope you stay active on the forum until your next outings. As for me? As long as I can dig I will be digging!

Those are some nice finds Steve. Hope you get plenty more next year .Congrats to You. Mike (Yazoo)

Nice Finds! Congratulations!!!

Thanks for the kind words everybody. It was a blast digging those three keepers. Kind of gets the blood pumping and keeps you going through those slump periods we all have. Thanks again and Happy Hunting.
