WOW!!

Good job I hope you reach your goal.

You got to love those Canadian 1 Dollar and 2 Dollar coins , they sure add up fast ( in Canada we have no 1 dollar bills or 2 Dollar bills ! )

Man, that is just awesome!

Does anyone have any pointers in terms of cleaning up on clad? Locations which produce best, ways/strategies to maximize finds in minimum time, etc. While I'm pretty inexperienced, a good 3-4 hour hunt for me (when hunting clad) is 75 cents to $1.25, something like that. Can anyone give any tips as to what they consider the best ways to increase your finds per hour, or whatever?

Good Luck and Happy Hunting. Karl

Karl,

Thanks for the tips. I have begun finding a few spots (the types of which are included in your extensive list above), which, combined with gaining more experience, is helping me to do a bit better. A 3-4 hour hunt now seems to result in a couple of dollars, and maybe a occasional ring or earring. A seven hour hunt at a local park last week got me well over $3 in clad, and a nice sterling silver ring. There are times when I am getting a dollar or even two in an hour, but then I hit patches of dirt where I find virtually nothing for an hour. I'm sure I'll learn with time which sections of an area are more likely to produce. Meanwhile, silver coins remain elusive for me, but I think many of my spots have likely been well-hunted before. I thought the battle would be won by finding spots to hunt; turns out, finding spots that HAVE NOT been well-hunted/cleaned out in the past might be the bigger challenge! :)
