Go Out Lost Dropped

I got up @ 3:30am this morning to go back to the place I found the gold items on Friday....

I hit the tot lot area first and just found coins in the wood chips. After 30 mins I decided to hunt the grass area around the play area. 40 minutes later ......

GOLD ring #4 ..... 14K @ 2.4 grams. (4th gold ring this year)

A bunch of clad ... $2.30 (this does not include the pennies).

I was there for 90 mins in total.

You have GOT to be kidding me! That is just AWESOME BH! You must live somewhere up north -- where peoples' finger diameter decreases in the cold weather, and rings slip off more easily! :)

Of course, that doesn't explain the gold key with the diamonds and the Jesus pendant... :clapping:

Steve,

You got to dig these >> :pulltab: in the 50's and 60's and a bunch of nickels (see pic, there is about $28.00 in nickels in that pic from a 6 week period) to get the gold / gold rings.

BH --

That is ALOT of nickels! :) You have inspired me to dedicate the occasional hunt ENTIRELY to finding jewelry; I'll have to change my mindset though. I'm so used to searching for places with "AGE" (and thus potential to hold silver coins), I guess I now need to search for places where jewelry-wearing folks congregate, and engage in physical activities!

Great hunting, BH!

its interesting this gold stuff and where it shows up for me 4 to 1 beach more than park but i am disced up to high to find much gold in the park, well i do find gold just in the form of our $1 & $2 which are gold in colour so they give a similar type buzz and i have found them very addictive.

still have 2 months to go and will post up my finds will be 6 months of full on detecting 3 or 4hrs a day stuff adds up and experience grows fast but the more i learn the less i know  i had a day off today to do some maintenance on my car and all fired up now to get back out there!!

i would like to see peoples stash from years of detecting  would be amazing.

and to add there are several fellas here who hunt like me its amazing i find anything so just have to have low expectations and be happy with what i find and be thankful i can do something i enjoy everyday international man of leisure

yes loony tunes too and loving it.............

hey amberjack -- not that I'm a gold expert (considering I haven't found a piece yet!), but I think a 4 to 1 ratio (gold found on beaches versus in parks) would make sense...alot more gold lost on beaches, I'd think, than in parks...

Steve

I've not found one gold item at the beach last year, so I took to land hunting for it, my land hunts are more productive.

I'm at 9 gold rings since Jan 2010 and they are all from parks / ball fields.

Nice BH
