GMT for coins/ jewelry?

jlw

New member
I know this is not its intended use but has anyone tried it for other than gold nuggets?

It can be used for coins and jewelry but I'd only use it for that in the tot lots with sand or bark where digging is easy and it's easy to cover your holes. The GMT doesn't pinpoint as well as an actual coin machine so digging in the grass will make a real mess. It's a killer on small gold like charms, earings, and other small pieces that coin machines don't even see. At today's gold prices, those small pieces can really add up in a short time.

interesting point,,,, how is the depth in that type of material ??

I think deeper than most other VLF detectors.
