GMT Does It Again

Today I took my GMT out to some old diggings and had a detect over the mullock heaps. Some of the heaps were highly mineralised and I was pleased to be able to find some small gold and also some pin head sized pieces. I am always amazed by this great machine and its ability to search out tiny pieces which other detectors cant get near. I was using Sat, flat out sensitivity set to 8, threshold only just silent running in tracking, with boost on. You get some ground noise but the signal from ground noise is never consisitent and it is a simple matter of identifying true signals which come through as a sharper crisper zip sound every time you pass over the target. I finished up with 7 small nuggets total weight 0.4 grms not much in weight but still get a buzz when I find it. seeya Neilo

Very nice finds , it would be great thrill finding those raw gold I would think . Congrats great job and thanks for sharing with us ...

I believe that this and 14" gold sierra are available for this machine. Have you used the other and how have you found it. being a newby to hf vlf and whites are these coils available from whites dealers

Both coils are available from whites dealers. I do also own the 14 inch Sierra Coil. It is a good sensitive coil it allows you to cover a lot of ground fairly quickly but tends to be a bit heavy. I would recommend using a bungy cord when using this coil. seeya Neilo

Well done Neilo!
It's good that you could turn the sensitivity all the way up to 8, you must be experienced using the GMT, whenever I get that high I find it harder to use in our soils.

p.s. I left you an email.:)

so,does it have one outer and one inner circleof wound cable with any difference of field between inner and outer registering, mark
Given that the wire was the same guage would the inner coil have basically more windings to basically match the length of the outer coil
