There are 7 of them all from the same dig.( hole) All are alike except bottom nunbers are in sequence from 3 to 9.

I thought they might tags to keep track of employees. If the tag is on the board that person is on the job. Maybe "at lunch" board. "on the road" or whatever. But I'm guessing.

The reason I guessed that is that it seems that all the tags are stamped with the number 1742 as if to delineate a lot number. And then each tag is numbered in sequence as well, 1, 2,3,4,5, etc.

Tool tags and checks normally have one number. I found a lot of tags that looked something like the ones that you found. But the ones I found are marked Lockheed. I found them at an old railway siding. They turned out to be some kind of fob that went on military parts to keep track of during their testing.

Still just a guess tough.

So 1747 you want a drill, two bits, and an extension cord give me four of you FOB,s ....

Mighty hard to explain....

Definately tool chits. Employee number, and the numerical sequences for the number of items chitted out. The guy probably ditched them on his last day at work.......????? Take this job and ......
