Hello all,
Found this Silver cross over the week end.

I was hoping someone could tell me something about the makers mark, if thats what it is?..
The pieces is stamp "GM" & "925", is "GM" the makers mark? Only thing I can find online is a makers mark for Gideon Myrick, Not much info about him on the web. He was born in 1736, was a gold smith, and was lost at sea...Could this be his mark???
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Happy Hunting~

The "GM" mark and ".925" are used by Gustavo Martinez, a well-known 20th century silver artisan of Taxco, Mexico. The ".925" mark denotes 92.5% pure, or "sterling," silver.
Best of luck,
Buckram

Thank you for the info Buckram!
I did manage to find alittle something about him after I posted...I originaly thought that the Mark was a stamped raised-letter mark, but after looking at it closer found that it is just the letters alone, without a box around them.
I always figured that the Web would be a good place for research, but have found that it is best to do it the old fashion way, and goto the libary <img src="/metal/html/cry.gif" border=0 width=40 height=15 alt=":cry">
Again thanks, and Huppy Hunting~

The only gold ring I've found had a hole where there was most likely a diamond chip, but it was missing when I found it. It would have been really small though, judging from the size of where it was missing from.
