I have a Garrett At Pro it's like brand new haven't even sent in the warranty card yet, I feel like I should sell or trade it for a Cz-21 what do you guys think?should I go after the CZ-21 or should I keep the At-Pro?

You have asked a CZ forum if you should buy a CZ....? A little biased we will be. =)

My 21 rocks on the saltwater beaches and surf. Hip mounted it swings all day. It is such a no brainier to use and your not physically or mentally exhausted by mid day. Compared to my PI machines it spoils me.

The few times I have used it in fresh water it runs like a Swiss watch.

I can't comment on the AT-pro, I know a lot of folks like them for the fresh water.

Hmmmmm; dilemma! I've read about a lot of excellent finds with the AT-Pro in many varied hunting environments.

You hunting fresh water or salt? From previous posts you don't get to the salt water beaches often; your wife or sometimes you use the AT-Pro. You use a CZ-5 and maybe a Tejon and had (or maybe still have) a Cibola and had a deal lined up on an Excalibur.

If you don't get to the salt water often, I'd say learn the AT-Pro and your CZ-5 and your Tejon and see what you (or your wife) like in the detectors. Keep what performs for you and then look to fill the gaps.

If you decide you get to the salt water beach enough to want a specialized detector, try the AT-pro on the wet sand and in the water. Try the CZ5 on the wet sand. See what works for you. If you think you want to add the accessories that are useful for hunting in the water, the AT-Pro should be able to detect there, but if you find you really like hunting in the water, then look at the CZ-21 or that deal you had on the Excal.

Just my humble two cents.
Cheers,

tvr I believe I will follow your advice and go from there.

are you gonna hunt salt water exclusively?
if so,get the fisher! one of the best saltwater units there is!

I have a CZ 21, Excal, ATPro & ATGold. If you are not diving and only in freshwater, myself i would use the ATPro as it will find smaller gold objects the CZ21 & Excal will not detect also the CZ21 is locked in salt mode. This is only my opinion, others may think otherwise.

I have a ATPro and had the CZ-21 and would take the ATPro over it anyday in fresh water, in salt I'm not sure, I would just use my Excalibur.
I totally agree with Frank though, the ATPro is better on smaller gold than the CZ-21.
Also, from what I've experienced so far...the ATPro is superior to any other water machine there is... in iron.

I won't try an ATpro for that reason. You already have it. Use it and learn it. Until someone can prove to me there is a better machine than the CZ-21, thats what I will stay using. My finds speak for themselves.

I have both machines and the CZ20 in great in salt water beaches, the ATPro can't handle it, but the ATPro is great in iron infested areas, I say keep the Pro and buy a used CZ, thats what I did and I'm loving it :goodnight:
