Took the two older girls, Hannah and Lee, to the pond today to shoot the Ruger SP 101 .357 magnum. They need to learn and handle this gun for home protection, and they are old enough.

This is Leanna taking a stance, and aiming at that limb sticking out of the water approx. 28 feet away. the .357 magnum is a tad much for them, so I had the gun loaded with .38 special +P (that's a .38 with a little more power in it). Lee shot well, but unfortunately I lost pictures of her shooting on the download.

In these two pictures (above and below) is Hannah whoompin' on that stick. I told her if she can shoot that well at 28 feet, she should have no problem hitting a bad guy at 10 feet. They like shooting, and shot up one whole box of 50 rounds.

This evening I took the two younger girls to an Elementary School woodchip park for a little metal detecting. Here's a picture of Sarah holding up one of the several quarters she found.

Here's Katie with her first gold ring! She found this all by herself about 3" deep in the woodchips. It had been there for a while.

Here is a closeup; there's a silver "D" on the face of the ring. She was so happy at finding it, she's in the kitchen now scrubbing it with soap and water and a toothbrush... she's like her Dad, she likes to clean things up.
Thanks for looking.
