I am leaving for Puerto Rico Jan 17th. Suppose to be a golf trip with 3 other guys. Going for two weeks. So got a Garrett AT Pro about a month ago. Taking it with me. We play golf every other day and spend lots of time on the Beach. Which was always boring to me. Now all im thinking about is detecting on the beach. So ive watched lots of videos, read many posts. Just looking for some tips. Sounds as though most of good finds are in wet sand or water. I am on the west side of PR so its kinda in the lee side of Island . many coves and really calm seas. Should I hunt here or out on the more exposed points? Any suggestions are appreciated.I have never detected on the beach, except in Viet Nam and wasnt looking for treasure there.

Good thing to do first is find out where the beach people hang out.
If its close to the resort area detect the dry sand where the lounge chairs
are situated.
You'd have to do this before sunrise when there no bodies around.
Detect where the towel lines are when there no one around.
I'd detect the wet sand adjusting the PRO remember salty sand/water are
easier to hunt with a PI machine.
Dig everthing as jewelry comes in as junk signal.
Good luck hope you get the gold.
