Getting Tougher to find Silver!! (But found a little...)

Went out for about 8 hours to a variety of sites last weekend. All I could find was one merc and six wheats. Think I need to get more creative with my choice of sites! LOL!

Yep! I think so too. The winter months are supposed to be for research. I think thats why mother nature changes the seasons. Has nothing to do with science or the axis shift, other than using technology in the research. HH

I agree with the research effort. I have found a local historian who is willing to help me. I am in Texas where the ground does not freeze, so I hunt all winter. Its like hells kitchen in the summer though so really cant hunt in the middle of the day then! LOL!

:clapping: Great digs. You are doing much better that I am, but we are dealing with frost in the ground of 12" or more, and snow cover. All we can do here is research, dream, and admire the finds of others. Good luck on future hunts. :detecting:

Yep! you can't make the payment on the porsche with the one merc and the wheaties.(lol)
I'm sure you have an alternate method for that though. Congratulations on the great finds!

Porsche, how did you find your historian? Did you stumble upon or search them out? Sounds like a great asset, would appreciate having one myself, thx

He writes in the local paper. If your paper has no such column, I would try searching for books about the history in your area and contact the authors. They are typically local. These guys seem not to be overwhelmed with inquiries and are happy to use their knowledge to help. My guy even refused the consultation fee I offered and wanted to help for free. He seemed very interested in the finds that I had already made.
