Getting the hang of the F-75 for relics

Hi, all:

Got to spend the day hunting for relics with my F-75. Really getting comfortable with it. Found a number of bullets and quite a bit of melted lead, which is a good sign of camp activity. The most interesting find was a three ringer with the cavity filled with lead. Not sure why or for what purpose. Used the all metal mode exclusively. I did check a few deeper signals that weren't IDing really well in all metal with the disc setting. If I got any positive indication at all with the disc., I dug it, and it always was a deep bullet or melted lead. This machine really sounds off on small items. The penny in the center is too corroded to get a positive ID. My wife thought it was a flying eagle cent, but I couldn't verify that. When I got the penny signal, it gave a reading of 81 on the VDI. I was anticipating a silver coin, but the penny popped out. Not sure if it read that high because of the corrosion, or what. Anyway, I'm really liking the F-75 for relics. Beats swinging the heavier MXT with a 14" coil, or my Nautilus with a 15" coil.

Thanks for looking, and keep on diggin'

I get to take my F-75 out tomorrow for the first. Hope I do as good as you.

jimmyk...really nice finds. In the all metal mode did you find that it ran as smooth as it would in a disc mode? Be interested in learning where you had the sensitivity. Congrats..Jim.

I had the Sens set at 90. It was a little jittery, but not unmanageable. I set the threshold to just barely null. I hope they come up with an even larger coil than the 11". When they do, I'll get rid of my MXT with a 14" coil and my Nautilus with a 15" coil.

jimmyk..yup...for my silver ore searching, a larger coil than the stock 11 inch is a must have. How do you figure the F-75 depth with the stock 11 inch elliptical coil compares to your MXT with stock 9/1-2 inch concentric coil? Jim.

The stock 11" F-75 coil is deeper than the stock MXT coil. I also have a 14" coil for my MXT and the 11" F-75 coil is about the same as the 14" depthwise. If the f-75 had a 14" coil available, I don't think anything would touch it. But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

14" would be great for finding the bigger relics Deep..But then we would need to drive a Backhoe in the woods with us..:lmfao::thumbup:
