Getting the hang of my MXT!

Wow, the frustration is leaving... I'm finally getting used to my MXT. I'm digging up some great coins and the depth....WOW!. I've learned to tweak the controls for depth and it's great. Yesterday I hunted a site that has been hunted out and I was pulling coin after coin about 6", 8" to 9". I thought I was doing something wrong because I was only digging things up around 3" or less when I first started using it. I have been working with the gain and cranking it up to +3 even in trashy areas (I'm used to the tones now, deep repeatable tones). I'm still using the stock coil and I'm very pleased. The only thing I hate listening to is the "Overload" noise that comes through...drives me crazy. I have the earphones up as loud as they will go and boy, I can hear every slight sound.
I have a question, will I still be missing watches and bigger jewelry when I receive the "Overload" message while I'm in C&J mode or should I switch to relic mode? I'm afraid that I'm going to miss something good while in this setting. When I receive the "Overload" does this mean I'm hitting larger iron objects, copper or even brass?
Well, all the new MXT owners, you will get used to the machine...just got to spend the time and play with the controls that best fits you location. Thanks again for all the help on the forum and will keep you guys posted if I have anymore questions.

At high gain a half or several coins very close and shallow will cause overload. On an overload raise the coil 6 or more in and resweep the target, this can help.

Try reading the relic instructions closely and try it- you'll like it! I think the strength is better and using 2-3 disc helps on iron. Try trigger forward and back until you grin.... (you can use zero disc too and still get 2 tone.
