Getting the hang of it

At the risk of jinxing myself on the next time out with the C$, I went to a local park, not old, to further refine my understanding of the C$. I set up using KEVIN (NC) deep soin settings (Sens. 8, Thresh -35) and wow. I was impressed with the depth.
I also took some advice from Bill Ladd on bottle cap ID (lifting the coil and watching the numbers) I was 5 for 5 in ID'ing the bottle caps and got pretty comfortable when and when not to dig.
Only bagged a bunch of clad, but that is really all I expected at this park. I was impressed with the depth (Thanks Kevin) and the target ID. I'm still working on my retrieval and pinpointing. but I'm getting the hang of it.
One thing I did notice, I need some further investigating on it, but it appears that when you try and pinpoint a bottle cap, the C$ doesn't like it. It snaps and pops a bit in pinpoint mode and you don't get the crisp tome you get when you've detected a coin. Still looking into this.
Thanks for all the advice. I'm getting there.

especially on the caps thing. I can't really take credit for that <img src="/metal/html/blush.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":redface"> Other's have mentioned this as a "solution" & I really don't do enough park-type hunts for caps to be a problem...Glad you had some success with it.
Keep letting us know how goes it with the C$...
