Getting Surgery soon: Will be out a couple months

Still winter here in NY so my season hasn't started yet, but unfortunately I am getting spine surgery in a couple weeks. I have a benign tumor in my spine pressing up against a nerve that's been causing problems in my leg/foot. I will be out of detecting for a couple months, but the season here in NY probably wont start til end of March anyways. Hoping I can start strong once I do get back out. I got the 6x8 SEF butterfly coil for my Etrac for Christmas and will be getting a RNB Battery Pack for it sometime soon as well. Definitely looking forward to getting back out there as I have quite a few good spots this year. Just thought I would let you guys know

Good luck with the surgery, it won't keep you down long. I had back surgery a few years back, I worried about it, but it wasn't nothing at all.

i just had bypass surgery myself know what you are feeling had mine oct 1st so i am looking forward to spring you should do the same good luck with your surgery and hoping that you are back this spring dennis

Hey bobby, hope you do well man. Sorry to hear about your having to have surgery. All the best.

I had to have surgery on my neck 1 1/2 years ago. I was really worried about it. I have spinal degeneration, and lost 3 disc's in my neck. They ended up putting a plate and 8 screws in my neck.
After a couple months of recovery, I was good again. I am doing so much better now.

You'll be good.....

Thanks for the responses. I'm not too worried about the surgery as much as I thought. It's nice to know that the other issues I'm having will go away when the tumor is removed and the support from family and friends is definitely helpful. Hoping I'll be able to start posting good finds once I recover

I pray all goes well with your surgery Bobby! Keep us posted.

Hope all goes well and you are able to get back in the field hunting in the Spring !

Just think, I had both knees replaced in 2012. And it feels like I have no knees, no more pain, I can kneel on 'em, I can squat and get back up with no pain. Yeah, I'd say you'll be back out really quick. Prayers going up for your fast healing..........NGE

Thanks guys...i'll find out tomorrow when it will actually be

I know it's been a while, but I finally have a date for surgery...it's going to be on March 18th

Best if luck to you...fyi - that is exactly the same thing that Melky Cabrerra of the Toronto Blue Jays had last year - they signed him as a free agent last year and he played like sh!t but before the season was over he went on the disabled list and that is when the benign tumour on his spine was discovered......he had surgery for it last fall and he is back this year and having a great spring training...the only difference between you and Melky is in a few months you won't be getting x million $ to swing your detector.

Haha that's ok with me. Being able to swing my detector will be rewarding enough
