I thought id see if my bluemax deepscan 950 from my 6000 di pro would fit my mxt pro....sooo i went to take my stock 12" off my mxt and...well...i thought you could unscrew it from the coil...so i did..unscrew it....the cable twisted right off....theres another 250.00 down the toilet...and i started to loosen up the 950 coil so dont know if it will work..or if it does work if i can use it on my mxt pro...i think my heads gonna pop off any second
 
Sorry. Coils from the two machines are not cross-compatable (different frequencies). As far as the twisted-off connector goes, Whites can probably make a repair for a lot less than replacement cost. Give 'em a call and ask.
 
Well...looks like im buying three coils then..any suggestions for mid size coil for mxt? the 950 deepscan on my 6000di pro always worked real well. i just hope they still sell them
 
Steve, believe me, you're not the first person to twist the wrong nut on a search coil. It's happened with any brand, but I am sorry it happened to you. If you do start searching for a new 12" coil, let me know ( monte@ahrps.org ) as I have a friend who has a brand new 12" coil still in the plastic packaging, unused, and he's asking $100 for it.

As you might now know, the answer is 'No', the Blue Max 950 off your 6.59 kHz 6000 Di Pro is not compatible with the
 
Sorry you had that unfortunate accident. Monte's coil offer is a great deal. I would jump on it if your going to go with a 12" coil again.
 
Yes im wanting to replace the 12" coil and also buy another smaller all around coil...any suggestions would be appreciated
 
I just bought a eclipse 6x10 dd for my mxt. I bought a 4x6 shooter for my 6000di pro. i am still wanting the 12" coil for 100.00 though...ive had great success with that coil
 
It was a great price for a brand new 12" coil, too.

Monte's giving you good advice on the 5.3 for smaller coil. You'll get decent depth from it and definitely better separation in the trashy areas. The 6X10 is pretty good for the same use and the 4X6 is great in really heavy trash, but lacks coverage and depth compared to the other two.

Nope...Coils ONLY unscrew from the end that plugs into the detector, unless it is hardwired, then you do not unscrew...
