Getting ready for Relic Season in Louisiana

I have been a Minelab man for the last 15 years ....Just for something different I bought a AT Pro..Been real happy with it hunting old house sites...Now it is about time to go relic hunting in plowed fields in Louisiana...My question is what is the best setting for all around hunting in these fields...Ground is good..Be looking for lead..brass and Iron..Thanks in advance for help given...

Hello, I use both the CTX and the AT Pro. I love the CTX and consider it my "main" machine, but there is not a great big gap between it and the At Pro, for it's price, the At Pro can not be beat. I hunt in pro mode, iron discrim on at 35, nothing notched out. I have made some great finds with those settings and I want to hear the iron grunts so if there are "peeps" of something good in all the iron I can dig it. It to me is like digging it all without actually having to dig the iron, I mean I can hear it and know it is there but I just don't have to dig it. As you are after relics you may want to lower your Iron a little bit, I'm not sure what big Iron like a cannon ball or horse tack or whatever might ring in as so you may have to play with that a little to decide "good" iron from bad. Good luck, hope this helps!
