getting permits mailed to me.....

Goes4ever

New member
just called two state parks close to me, they have lakeside beaches. They said permits for one year will be mailed to me today, I need to sign them and return. Then I am good to go ANYWHERE in the park, wooHOOOO! :clapping:

Great news!!

I just got my first. Most places in NJ do not require permits, but some other states do. I am actually excited to have it!!

Congrats!

I had to write to the parks department and give a copy of my driver's liscense. About 6 weeks later I received the permit. I need to fill out the back at the end of 2008 with a list of everything i found of value or historic significance. I will make sure I do that....

hmmmm, I hope I don't have to do all of that, they said it would be mailed today, and I needed to sign it, return it. Then the park ranger would sign it and return it to me.
I pray it is not a 6 week deal!

I can tell you that the Rangers like to yell from a distance " Hey, get out of there! " Then you yell back " I have a permit!!!" Then they drive away. Without a permit you just look like an idiot.

FYI, I most certainly will report any historically significant finds. I have donated things to many local museums and libraries. There is no better feeling to see my name on an artifact in a museum case.
