Getting my last licks in................classic Garrett International S-4

Sure was cold and windy this afternoon. Got out for 1 hour before my gloved fingers started hurting.
Found another schoolyard I haven't hit yet. Took out a vintage Garrett S-4 VLF/TR Groundhog.

Sure missed those old non motion detectors, this thing really talks to you as to what's in the ground, just like I am used to....
Only drawback with this unit, it doesn't discriminate below bottle cap. Only has a two position disc. toggle switch. So it rejects most modern Ca clad except for the Loons and Toons.

Pleasantly surprised that you can tell a coin in VLF mode and switch to disc. to check. It does pick up the older clad, everything that I found was dated 1960-1980's for the most part. The quarter was a 1995 and Twoonie 2002.

So for about an hour not digging a lot of trash, came up with about $2.50, Fruit of the Loom badge, some other small trinkets and a Klein tools wrench (new cost $12.00).

Nice little unit the S-4 is. Now just to get my Gold hunter Groundhog ADS functioning before the ground freezes over.......

You'd call that an old classic hunt.
Congrats on the finds, the oldie still can do it.
