Getting closer

Got permission to hunt a new site. It should keep me busy for a while. The .69 came in loud on the MXT, I guess I am just used to digging all those .58's back east.

Good to see you getting on some relics in unfamiliar territory. Hope you locate the site and hit the "Mother Load". There's a fella that just joined the Diggin forum from that area also, and is doing well, that goes by "tgsman" I believe, maybe he could offer some info.

I'm working over a beat Confederate site and doing ok, with some Gardners and flat buttons, couple coins, holed large cent is pretty cool. Took a buddy that got a detector for Christmas thats never dug
before and whats he do....dug a horseshoe and 1 button, a Confederate Engineers Script coat button :stretcher:...that's me on the stretcher leaving the site....I still can't sleep. I told him as far as Buttons go, its now all downhill from that..what a first. Anyways, good luck to ya.

Dave,

Glad you are doing well. I have literally but about 6 months of research into this area and this weekend I final gained permission to two of the sites I feel have the most potential. Thats funny about the Egineers button. You have to love beginners luck. I guess its just good it was gotten out fo the ground so it can be enjoyed.

My first time out about ten years ago I went with a friend who had permission to hunt a battlefield site in Bristow. About every five feet, I dug a bullet or some other relic. Seemed easy to me. Been downhill ever since.

In here John. Only problem is now the wife has the house hunting bug so I have to look at a few every weekend. I still get in a few hours swinging the coil when I can though.
