Getting back into the hobby

FlushingMI_THer

New member
Greetings everyone

My name is Joel and I'm from the Flint Michigan area. Looking to start getting back into the hobby with a good friend of mine shortly. I wanted to see if there was anyone in the area who might have a good used Garrett machine for sale.

Hope to post more "cool" posts this coming spring

Joel

Joel:

Welcome back to the world of metal detecting. Of course you know you are a few years too late. Everything has already been found!!! (Just Kidding!)

I would recommend getting a new ACE 250 rather than a used high end machine. I have owned both, and I constantly found myself using the ACE. I ended up selling my $800 machine, and have been very happy using only the ACE. It does have it's limitations, but if you are just getting back into the hobby you cannot go wrong for the $200 (US) that it costs.

If you are interested in a higher end used unit, I recommend Craigs List. I would rather buy from someone local. I feel safer meeting someone face to face than bidding on eBay.

I hope this helps.

Welcome to the forum and welcome back into the hobby. Will be loking forward to future posts and pics. I've got a same as new Garrett I'll part with. Send me a PM.

Thanks for the welcome back guys, Neil that was a funny post got a good lol outa that one, I will also check out the Ace 250. My last machine was a Garrett 500 I think was the # Worked well enough for me tho I had only one other machine a whites but it was an old swing needle.
Was looking at the GTI 2500, but unfortunatly with my line of work I am stuck in the truck for the most part of 5 days a week. And it would take some good amount of time to get good use outa it.
