Getting Back into Metal Detecting - Some of my Non-Metal Finds for 2018

Hello all - Long time no type! I just ordered a new Deus X35 WS4 11" coil lite setup with MI-4 pinpointer. My last detector was an Equinox 800 and it was a fantastic machine for deep and masked coins! Was forced to sell it to pay some bills about a year ago. I really missed METAL detecting!

I focused my efforts on finding crystal pockets here in Colorado, and found so many that I had to put mining claims down - and lost about 20 lbs in the process! I learned about pegmatites and granite contact zones, and went out searching for previously undug deposits - the pictures speak for themselves! 2019 is going to be the BEST year for both metal and non-metal finds - I just have a feeling (like the old Toyota commercials!)

Once some of the snow goes away I can't wait to get back out with Mike as there are literally blocks upon blocks of torn-up sidewalk around my immediate neighborhood! The timing couldn't be better (but the weather sure could be!)

Happy Hunting!

Very Cool CZ . . . Rockhounding is a lot of fun. Used to take my daughter out exploring for rocks.

After hunting with your EQ800 last year, what made you decide to go the Deus route? And the WS4's? And the X35 11" coil ?

Nice finds... when I was a kid in school we went to Hot Springs, AR every year for a family reunion. We always took time to look for crystals on those trips.

Rich,
Not that I can speak for CZ, but If I had to go out on a limb and guess;
CZ spent considerably more time with his first Deus than the EQ, and really learned it's language well.
That, and he found his best finds with the Deus. (Not that he wasn't finding silver with the EQ...he was...more than I was, LOL.)

Combine that with the new boost mode in 4k the X35 has, and I can see why he'd want to try it out. :)

Sometimes, you just click with a detector, and it will always be a favorite.
hh,
mike
