Getting a sovereign GT

DigDugNY

Member
gonna be hitting up the beach this summer on a few outings, so wanted to get another detector that I can use for beaches. Picked up a nicely used Sovereign GT and can't wait to be able to use it

Be prepared to dig some Deep targets. That GT is not so good on small gold items and small link chains but it will hit a gold ring like a ton of bricks. Enjoy.

That is my favorite machine for wet salt sand. Clive Clynick has several excellent books on the Sovereign series, and Gary Drayton also has one. Any of these would enhance your enjoyment of using this wonderful detector.
Assuming you like using it, adding a large coil (such as a WOT with Detecting Buddy or similar harness) will access a deeper layer of targets that is invisible to those using stock coils. But I agree with George that you will get a workout digging deep targets.
Enjoy!

Bobby, how is your Sovereign working out,too many new users get discourage with this detector because they don't put enough field time to learn this detector.Good Luck HH Ron
