Getting a good signal and number from only one direction?

I'm new to the F75 and am wondering how often, when this occurs, do you find a coin? I found with some of the other Fishers, that if this occurred, that you stood a real good chance of digging iron, does this apply to the F75? I know I should just dig, but with the ground so hard now, I would like to save a little time and effort. Any help will be appreciated.

for me, most of the time, it's been junk. With that said, it can still be a coin nestled up against a bit of iron. If it's a one way signal, but pinpoints deep, I'd be digging!

If you sweep faster over the spot and/or sweep wider or "X" it and it still reads in only one direction, it's not a coin. Depending on where you have your discrimination it may or may not be iron or foil. That's 100% in the time I've been using the F-75 (a month).

I had somewhat of a similar situation yesterday, nice high tone and nickel reading in one direction and broken and chirpy in others and readings bouncing between 26-30. Since it was showing 5" depth, I decided to dig. It turned out to be a 1920 Buffalo nickel slightly on edge. HH jim tn
