Found out the only short in my new 505 was the improper connection between my fingers and the sens dial. My 60th birthday today so to celebrate I left the hay field early this afternoon and headed into town to the county fair grounds. Thought that the area where they set up the carnival rides and gyp joints every year would be a good place to see if I was getting the settings halfway close. Spent two hours there trying different adjustments, finally got the pull tabs dialed out but of course lost nickels and gold rings. About the time I was starting to hit some coins and able to tell what was junk and not dig it, a man drove up on a 4-wheeler and asked me if I was finding anything. I told him some pennies and a lot of pull tabs. He said that I probably would not have much luck as there was a fella that hits that place hard every year right after the fair is over and then there are about 3 other guys work it fairly regularly. I told him it was still a good place to practise setting my machine and he said good luck and drove off. I then bent over and dug out the dime that had signaled just as he drove up. worked this area randomly with both the505 with the stock coil and the tracker 4 with a 4 inch coil and had my best day since getting these machines two weeks ago. Score for today- 4 quarters, 5 dimes, 4 nickels, 27 pennies, 5 tokens, two necklace cross pendant's ( 1 gold 1 silver ) and two coat pockets full of trash. will try to upload a picture. If it comes up notice the penny that someone sawed into a keystone. The coins are all clad but that's ok I am extremely thrilled and absolutely sold out to the "addiction" ( no cure needed ) Ed in colo.
