dredge season will be here in maine starting in june so getting everything ready and have a place to test tomorrow so check it out also I have a quad jet too hooked up to a 3hp power 52gpm pump the line from the jet to sluice is 5' long and the suction is 10'

I hope it will work for you, but you need the water forced up to the headerbox. You won,t get any suction. You need a suction nozzle.

that's why the jet is in the middle it acts like a nozzle if you look at that the water comes in and stages left to the sluice and drawing suction water from the other hose there 4 1/4" ports inside this set up so we' ll see how it works out

well I don't know I've got it from a guy that studies pretty hard in hydraulics and pressures so I'm feeling pretty confident about it myself.................i'll show results later today

Most people are used to seeing the traditional suction head. Interesting setup. But the shorter the suction line, the better the draw. Then it might help keep the "cloggers" out of the line.

hello there shadow wolf I just tried it out this week end and works good and used the 2.5hp 1.5" mini pump 52gpm rating and does well but clogs were killing me and cold water I would have shown pics but my cell phone and camera fell in the brook so but need to make a nozzle guard and got color every time except once out of 4 its sparse but I'd say -100 mesh

I knew a guy that used the 2" strainer from a pump supply hose for a nozzle "grizzly".
The strainer was about 4" lond and narrowed down to about 1 1/4", with the openings being around 1/4" to 3/8"
He fabbed a partial cover/hood for it and used it on his 2" highbanker/dredge.
He seemed real happy with it. He said it really helped when working around boulders in coarse gravel.

well I'm going to try a piece of thin flexible 1/2" expanded metal my buddy fabbed it up while I was in the process of dredging so this next weekend coming up i'll be at it again were finally getting some really needed rain so going to work those sand bank area's

I am kinda confused on the Maine Gold Dredging rules? What is considered the bank ? Can I dig in a gravel bar or not? If I am highbanking on a gravel bar, can the machine discharge gravels/water back into the creek channel? If not, where?
We don't have these issues where I gold mine . I hope to be up the East Branch of Swift river weekend of July 19 for a few days.
Where do you go mining in Maine if you don't mind my asking?
