May Dad, Frank (VA) and I went back to our Yankee camp yesterday. The best find of the day was a port-a-jon at one of the construction sites! Well this development is what you call UPSCALE! Why even the port-a-jons have moist wipes! What that actually means is it was raining so bad the T.P. was soaked! (Of course upon making this discovery I had already passed the point of no return!)
Well the finds started quickly. Dad got a 3 ringer about 3 feet from the truck. We were concentrating on an area they bushhogged last week. We dug a ton of trash and clad coins before we finally moved on. We eventually made our way back over to the little "hotspot" we found the last time. We got some more lead out of there.
I found this finial that I am sure was once attached to the scabbard piece I found there last time.

Here are some of the finds from this spot. I really like the thimble and button (beside the roundball). They were found about a foot apart.

I pulled some things out to make a display for the owner who gave us permission. I have a photo of the commanding officer and some information on who was camped there. It should display nicely with some bullets and "camp stuff".
Man were are ACHING today!
